Before Care 2026-27 School Year

At Bend International School, we provide a before school care option for families to support work schedules. The program runs from 7:30 am to 8:40 am each day, after which our grounds are open for all students until 8:55 am when they go into class. Before care begins on September 10th.

  • K – 8 students – Arrive at the drop off circle and enter the Big Room. Rotating activities will be provided, access to the playground and gym will be available.
The cost for this program is $300 per year, which covers flexible use of the program by day and time. Cost for an additional sibling(s) is $200 per year. Payment plans are available.
Scholarships are available for all eligible students based on eligibility for the National Free and Reduced Lunch Program (NFRL). Additional requests will be reviewed based on need.
Once you have registered for the program you will receive an invoice via Quickbooks from the school.  Your scholarship will be applied if you qualify for the NFRL benefits.

Camp Fire After School Program

Aftercare at Bend International School is run by Camp Fire Afterschool (CFA). CFA is a flexible and fun option for families looking to balance after school care with enrichment opportunities and social-emotional skill development. CFA supports youth in exploring their sparks, practicing social skills, creating connections, building community, and gaining confidence.

Enrichment

🎵 BIS Band with Maestro Austin

  • Grades: 5–8
  • Day/Time: Tuesdays, 8:15–9:00 AM (before school)
  • Dates: January 12 – March 9 (9-week Session)
  • Location: BIS Music Room
  • Cost: $100
  • Prerequisite: 1+ year experience on an instrument
  • Description: Join Maestro Austin for a fun early-morning band experience! Students with at least one year of instrumental experience will build their musical skills while performing together in a supportive ensemble.

🧱 Lego Club with Fun Works 

  • Grades: K-5
  • Day/Time: Tuesdays, 3:30–5:00 PM
  • Location: Music Room
  • Dates: January 5 – February 16 (7-week Session)
  • Cost: $150
  • Capacity: 15 students
  • Description: Build, explore, and create with motorized LEGO projects! Students will discover STEM concepts through hands-on building, then customize and decorate their creations. 🇪🇸 Spanish Club with Maestro Jim

  • Grades: 3–8
  • Day/Time: Tuesdays, 3:30–4:15 PM 
  • Location: 8th Grade Classroom
  • Dates: January 12 – February 16 (6-week Session)
  • Cost: $75
  • Capacity: 15 students
  • Description: Build confidence and take your Spanish skills to the next level with Maestro Jim! Spanish Club offers students a welcoming space to practice speaking, expand their vocabulary, and connect with classmates as they grow their language skills.

🎪 Aerial Arts with Lava City Cirque (6–8)

  • Grades: 6–8
  • Day/Time: Wednesdays, 2:00–3:30 PM
  • Dates: January 13 – February 10 (5-week session)
  • Location: Lava City Cirque Studio
  • Cost: $115
  • Capacity: 10 students
  • Description: Step right up and join the circus! Students will explore aerial arts including silks, trapeze, and hoop while building strength, confidence, and coordination through games and guided instruction. No experience is necessary.
  • Transportation: Students will be walked from BIS to Lava City Cirque by an instructor. Parents should pick up students at 3:30 PM from Lava City Cirque Studio, 63075 Crusher Ave. #105, Bend, OR 97703.

🎨 Art Exploration Club with Maestra Jill 

  • Grades: K-5
  • Day/Time: Thursdays, 3:30–4:30 PM
  • Location: 6th Grade Classroom
  • Dates: January 14 – February 18 (6-week session)
  • Cost: $130 total ($115 program fee + $15 supply fee)
  • Capacity: Max 15 students
  • Description: Explore art history and express your creativity with Maestra Jill! Students will experiment with a variety of materials and techniques through imaginative mixed-media projects that encourage artistic exploration and self-expression.

  • Programs require minimum enrollment to run. If a program is canceled due to low enrollment, registered families will receive a full refund.
